Dyper's Score:

Overview

Dyper does a good job making sure that your baby is safe from really nasty ingredients you want to keep away from your little one. They also make sure that they love Mother Earth, people, are a certified B Corp and parents love the performance of the products. We do not know if they are vegan and do not have clarity on the human rights and some environmental points. So, how do they stack up against The Conscious Score? See below why they got a B.

Ingredients
Overview

Dyper is free from a lot of ingredients you want to keep away from your little one, they also disclose their ingredient list and is certified by OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and tested by Dermatest. Based on OEKO-TEX Standard Product Class 1, the diapers are also considered free from Phthlates, VOCs, BPAs, heavy metals and more. (When we stay free from, there are trace amounts allowed, see standards here). We know the diaper is not Totally Chlorine Free, it is Elemental Chlorine-Free Wood Pulp. Totally chlorine free (TCF) means that no chlorine or chlorine derivatives are used to make the paper. It comes from virgin (new) fiber. Elemental chlorine free (ECF) means that no chlorine was used, however other chemicals containing chlorine are used for bleaching. Chlorine bleaching of pulp and paper and other industrial processes can create small quantities of dioxins. Based on our standards and their transparency Dyper gets a A for the Ingredient Pillar of the Conscious Score.

Environment

Dyper has policies and procedures to help with CO2 emissions via offset partnership with Cool Effect, they have also removed 96,535 kg of plastic waste from the environment in 2021 to stay Plastic Neutral (That's the equivalent of 5.3M plastic bottles, wowza!). They have also announced that they have diverted more than ten million pounds of diaper waste from the nation’s landfills through its eco-conscious commercial landfill avoidance program REDYPER™. They are B Corp certified, use 6% bioplastic in their diapers and are certified by TÜV. We aren't sure what their CO2 emissions are as a company or if they use renewable energy when manufacturing their products but we are very impressed with their impact and efforts so far. Dyper receives a B for The Environmental Pillar of The Conscious Score.

Human Rights

Based on Dypers B Corp Impact Score we know that they are evaluating their supply chain, they offer financial security, career development, and more to their workers. They have considered diversity and inclusion, civic engineering and giving, as well as having a mission that is ethical and transparent in their processes. We do not have the details on how this Impact Score was created and cannot tell if they have any safeguards for forced labor or child labor in their supply chain. Based on our standards and their transparency, Dyper receives a C+ for The Human Rights Pillar of The Conscious Score.

Animal Rights

Dyper claims that it is cruelty free (there is no third party backing this up) and we do not see evidence that they are sold in countries that animal require testing. There is no claim that the ingredients are vegan. Based on our standards Dyper gets an F for The Animal Rights Pillar of The Conscious Score.
