• Breathable bamboo top and back sheet

Environment

Products on the Go develops all of their products with mindful intention. They require that their products are safe and provide a positive impact on the environment. Their diaper company, Little Toes, is no exception to this rule! They pride themselves on having developed a sustainable and 70% biodegradable top sheet and back sheet (in 147 days). It is not only safe for babies, but also helps parents reduce their carbon footprint. They are committed to offering products that are made responsibly, from plant-based materials, and without harmful chemicals. Their decision to use bamboo produces 30-45 percent more oxygen while it absorbs carbon dioxide. Lastly, all of the print designs are made with water based ink. The ink does not contain any VOCs in the production or processing.

Human Rights

Little toes only works with suppliers that implement socially responsible policies that abide by the guidelines from the International Organization for Standardization & ISO 26000. Some highlights to the guidelines include providing equal employment opportunities, preventing all forms of discrimination, and seeking ways to prevent or mitigate adverse human rights impacts, including child labor.

They are a certified woman owned small business that promotes hiring practices that relieve inequalities in the labor market by providing an environment of inclusivity. They are family centric, allowing flexible hours and work from home when possible and they specifically create opportunities for young adults who are neurodiverse as well as provide summer internship programs to these same individuals in their fulfilment and warehousing departments. This program is very dear to the founder’s heart as it has been part of her life’s work to counsel, coach and mentor teens and young adults.

They also give back to the community by donating products to diaper banks, disaster relief programs and non-profit organizations throughout the US. The founder is an active philanthropist with her own non-profit Rescue Mission Unlimited, which is dedicated to helping children and families in crisis.

Animal Rights

Little Toes is vegan and cruelty free!

In addition, because their top sheet and backsheet is bamboo the material is resistant to pests. This means they do not need to use harmful pesticides to protect the crop. This helps protect the surrounding environment for nearby plant and wildlife in the area.

Supply Chain

The bamboo is grown and produced in China, therefore the supply chain is maintained and controlled by their certified Chinese suppliers. The suppliers have strict quality management procedures that includes random inspections of the materials before they arrive at their warehouse, at the end of the daily production and after each batch of production is completed.

As part of our screening process we ask all suppliers to submit all third party certifications and manufacturing documents that demonstrate that they abide by industry standards and comply with social responsible polices. Based on this documentation we then move to the next phase which is asking for samples to be reviewed to determine the quality of the materials that are used as well as the manufacturing of the product.

Packaging

Little Toes uses a new technology called d2w which accelerates the natural process of oxidation until the product is no longer a plastic by creating a material that can be bio-assimilated (ie use as a food source) by bacteria and fungi on land or sea. d2w plastic can be recycled with conventional polymer and can be made with recycled material. Your diapers are also packaged in a waterproof, lightweight strong and flexible bag, keeping your baby’s diapers sanitary from the moment that are manufactured and ship to your door. The bags contain no toxic residues and no microplastics and are even suitable for food contact according to FDA & EU guidelines.

Performance
Overview

We evaluate performance of the baby diapers based on real parent reviews and 3rd party lab tests. We consider things like absorbency, durability, scent, leak protection and softness.

Diapers

The Little Toes Diaper has been put to the test (literally) when it comes to absorbency. The tests done by third parties, parents conducting homegrown tests online and real parent feedback let us know this diaper can hold its own (pun intended). Based on parent feedback the diaper durability could use some help in the fastening arena. Some parents reported easily ripped tabs in a 2018 version of their diaper or that the velcrow pops off easily, but due to the customer feedback Little Toes has reinforced the tabs in their new generation diaper! These diapers run larger than most and some parents reported that this impacted the quality of the leak protection. Majority of parents stated that this diaper is a 5 out 5 for softness.
